We tried the new Taco John's OMCheese Quesadilla Taco

I love Taco John's and trying their new items and items that will only be available for a limited time, so I couldn't resist the brand new OMCheese Quesadilla Taco, which is available beginning January 6th, 2025.
a closeup shot of the OMCheese Quesadilla Taco from Taco John's provides a background for the post title

The new OMCheese Quesadilla Taco from Taco John's is basically a taco made inside of a quesadilla. So instead of one tortilla on the outside of the taco, there are two soft flour tortillas, and there is a melted four-cheese blend in between them. I'm not sure whether prices vary, but at our Taco John's, it was about $4, which I felt was a fair price for how much food you get.
Inside the taco, there is meat (it's advertised as having grilled chicken, but in the Taco John's app you can also choose from ground beef or sirloin steak) topped with fiesta sauce, shredded lettuce, and pico de gallo.

The OMCheese Quesadilla Taco is available on its own, or as a combo with Potato Oles and pop or bundle with Potatoe Oles, pop, a Nacho Crunch Beef Burrito, and a Churro.
The first time I ordered, I just got one while we were out doing the school pickup run, thinking that we could all share it and just try a couple bites each for fun. That was a mistake, because it just left us all wanting more! My tween especially loved it and I let him eat most of it. So, the next time I ordered one just for myself. Both times I got chicken since that's the advertised meat with it and also because I love grilled chicken, and both times it was delicious and filling. I thought it was flavorful without being too hot for a spice wimp like me (be sure to ask for some hot sauce if you are not a spice wimp) and had a nice soft taco texture, neither soggy nor crunchy.

If I have a chance to try the sirloin with it before it's gone from the TJ's menu, I will be sure to update on how that is. But I haven't seen a date yet for when they're going to remove it from the menu, so I'm not sure whether I will get to try it out or not.
Basically, it was a big hit with my family, especially me. If you like Taco John's and think adding a bit more melted cheese into your life sounds delicious, there's a good chance you'll enjoy the OMCheese Quesadilla too, and I recommend it.

The Ranch KC offers family-friendly KC BBQ in Belton, MO

UPDATE: The Ranch KC closed in spring 2026. I am leaving my review up for now in case people are still curious about what it was like. You can check out more of my KC faves here. On a recent trip to Kansas City, I had the opportunity to visit a new restaurant, The Ranch KC, and I was so impressed I wanted to share about it with all of you! My former hometown of Kansas City is one of my favorite travel destinations, not just because I love seeing my family and friends there, but also because there are great places to play, shop, eat, and explore. And The Ranch KC is definitely going on my list of great little places to eat in the KC area for future trips too! The Ranch KC is at its heart a barbeque restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and lots of kid-friendly options, so I definitely recommend it as a great way to get some KC BBQ, especially if you're visiting the area with kids.  Where is The Ranch KC? The Ranch KC is located at 17207 S US Hwy 71 in Belton, ...
