It's almost 2025, and as we say goodbye to 2024, here are some things families can look forward to in Sioux City in the coming year:
This brand-new outdoor waterpark with water slides, a lazy river, a swim-up bar, a wave pool, and tons of fun for kids is planned to open in 2025, tentatively Memorial Day weekend.
This new retailer and mocktail bar is opening on historic 4th Street in honor of the owner's late sister Whitney aka "Winnie." Inside, shoppers can peruse a wide variety of carefully curated vintage goods, and thirsty visitors can grab imaginative mocktails, all alcohol-free in honor of Winnie. Definitely a welcome addition to downtown Sioux City.
The Sioux City Orpheum Theatre has already started announcing their epic lineup for the first half of 2025, which includes concerts from the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Broadway at the Orpheum including Mean Girls and Pretty Woman, plus live shows from Sesame Street, Illuminate, and the Kratt Brothers
The Tyson is also anticipating a busy and fun 2025. On the schedule already are Sioux City Musketeers hockey games, the Harlem Globetrotters, World Championship Motorcycle Ice Racing, the Sioux City Stampede Rodeo, and a live show from comedian Nate Bargatze.
The former Half Moon Bar on Lewis Boulevard is undergoing renovations to become a second Sioux City location of the iconic La Juanita Taqueria. No opening date is set yet, but they had previously told the Sioux City Journal that it would potentially be summer 2024, so we will hope this finally happens in 2025! More tacos would definitely go a long way towards making 2025 an amazing year.
