  1. Grab drinks on Historic 4th Street
    • Sip on something special while taking in the charming atmosphere of Historic 4th Street. Try one of the popular eateries like Soho, Rebo's, Diving Elk, 1008 Key Club, or Marto for a fun night out. Enjoy each other's company while taking in the sights and sounds of one of the most historic and vibrant sections of Downtown Sioux City! And many of the 4th Street bars and restaurants will have Valentine specials, so be sure to watch for those.
  2. Go ice skating at the IBP Ice Center
    • Get your heart racing and make some great memories when you enjoy this classic winter sport with your valentine! The 85x200' ice has public skate hours on Fridays from 7 to 10pm and Saturdays from 7:30 to 9:30pm. So lace up your skates and get ready to glide hand-in-hand at Sioux City's only public indoor ice-skating rink.
  3. Visit the Sioux City Art Center
    • Spend some quality time admiring the latest exhibits at the Sioux City Art Center, including exhibitions closing after February 12th by the Sioux City Camera Club, Larassa Kabal, and one closing in March by Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez. And be sure to check out the permanent collection and Grant Wood's Corn Room while you're there. If you go the Saturday morning before or after Valentine's Day, you can even paint together at the weekly Saturday morning art workshops!
  4. Dine by the Missouri
    • Enjoy some of Sioux City's finest dining and some of its best views at the same time! Both Crave in Sioux City and Kahill's in South Sioux City offer upscale dining experiences with a view of the Missouri River--and if it's unseasonably warm or you're just really bundled up, you can even go for a stroll along the Mighty Mo after you eat! Crave specializes in sushi and American food and is offering an exclusive Valentine's Day prix fixe menu in 2023. Crave also has a wide variety of drinks, including wine, cocktails, and even some fun non-alcoholic cocktails! Kahill's shines with steak and upscale fare from calimari and mussels starters to lobster mac n cheese and asparagus with hollandaise, and for dessert, creme brulee, tarts, souffles and more. 
  5. Snowshoe or XC Ski at Adams Homestead
    1. February is pretty cold and snowy in Sioux City most years, and 2023 seems to be no exception. Outdoorsy couples will adore spending the day together at Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve enjoying that snow and getting active together. The trails at Adams are groomed each winter so visitors can go xc skiing or snowshoeing between the banks of the Missouri and Big Sioux Rivers, and limited quantities of xc gear are available to rent (call them to arrange your gear rental ahead of time!)
  6. Eat dessert first, then test your luck
    • Indulge in some sweet treats at Palmer's Old Tyme Candy Shoppe, home of the Bing candy bar and other Siouxland-made treats for more than a century! Afterwards, take this playful date night from the candy store to the slots, table games, and other fun (and food!) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City. There are concerts scheduled at the Hard Rock on both the Friday (2/10, Casey Donahew) and Saturday (2/11, Thompson Square) before Valentine's Day.
  7. Savor the Symphony
    • Settle into a plush seat at Sioux City's fanciest venue by attending the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra's performance on February 18th, 2023. This live concert at the Sioux City Orpheum Theater features the Brahms' piece Variations on a Theme by Hadyn along with Hadyn's Cello Concerto in D Major, Ligety's Concert Romanesc and Martines's Overture in C and is sure to be an auditory delight!
  8. Golf and game at Tilt
    • Show your valentine your competitive side at Tilt in the Southern Hills Mall, where you can play mini golf or try one of their dozens of games. They have a wide variety, from the hottest new arcade masterpieces to classics like skee ball. And winning your Valentine a cute prize could be a great way to end the evening!
  9. Go tubing under the stars at Cone Park
    • For a thrilling Valentine's Day date, head to the hillside at Cone Park to go tubing! After you ride down the hill to your heart's content, head into the lodge to get cozy around the fireplace or hit the ice at the small outdoor skate rink. A variety of tubing times are held in the days before and after Valentine's Day, but for late night romance on the hillside, reserve your tickets for the 9-11pm glow tubing sessions on Saturday 2/11 or 2/18!

    • At this newly restored art deco masterpiece, you can dine, play, relax, and stay! Woodbury's serves up haute cuisine like steak while The Crown is known for cocktails and a rooftop view of downtown. For fun, head to the basement bowling alley and pool, or get facials and a relaxing couples massage at Two Finches Spa. Then, snuggle in for the night with your Valentine in one of the Warrior's luxurious rooms.

Little Chicago Deli is coming back to Sioux City!

Sioux City's newest eatery isn't actually new--it's just the newest iteration of a classic! Little Chicago Deli is opening in a new location just a couple doors down from the original restaurant, and they're opening on Friday May 31, 2024, for pickup orders and delivery, with the dining lobby opening later in summer 2024.
