Welcome to the newest corner of my blog! 4 times a year I'll update you with the best events, activities, and more for tweens, teens, and college students. I'll still include teen events in my regular monthly event posts here on the blog, and in the weekend updates I share on social media, but in case you want all the teen fun in one place and without the clutter of events your teen definitely won't go to, here it is!

Other activities for teens this winter
- On Your Feet at the Sioux City Orpheum shares the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan in this live musical featuring some of her top hits. January 16th at 7:30pm
- Music and dance lovers will have a blast at Hairspray at the Sioux City Orpheum when the live musical hits the stage at 7:30pm on February 1st.
- Every Thursday night at 7pm, it's Open Mic Night at Vangarde Arts, so you and your teens should come ready to rock! No cover charge/admission, just pay for anything you'd like to eat or drink while there.
- Not ready for the big stage? Try the more lowkey jam sessions every Thursday afternoon at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center! FREE!
- The Sioux City Art Center has a variety of classes for teens and adults listed as "adult" classes (some are for 13+ while others require you to be in high school or older. Don't hesitate to call the art center if you have any questions--they're super nice and helpful, and they want to help people find classes that are a good match for them!), on topics from printmaking to stained glass, ceramics, and more! Winter sessions begin in January 2023, plus the art center holds all-ages-welcome workshops every Saturday!
Volunteer Ideas
- Many schools, non-profits, and churches are hosting Christmas events like concerts, pageants, gift workshops, and more. Check in with your favorites to see whether they're offering volunteer hours that count towards school program requirements!
- If you know a family with young children, they would probably love a teen helping to watch them while their parents go Christmas shopping in December, out on New Year's Eve, or on a Valentine's date in February!
- Neighbors who are elderly, disabled, or just plain busy may struggle to get their snow and ice removal done this winter, so consider offering to help!
