Sioux City sits amidst some of the best farmland in the entire world. So it's no surprise we have a farmer's market full of delicious produce, meat, honey, and lots of other fun! Here's what families should know about the Sioux City Farmer's Market:

Who are the vendors at the Sioux City Farmer's Market?

The vendors at the Sioux City Farmer's Market are farmers, cooks, artists, and small business owners from Sioux City and from nearby communities in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Most vendors are there most weeks, but some are not, so I definitely recommend following your favorites on social media to watch for info on which weeks they will be there. You can also find out more information about all of the vendors on the Sioux City Farmer's Market website.

There are a lot more vendors than this and in my experience every vendor at the Sioux City Farmers Market is excellent, but some of the specific vendors who will for sure be at the 2021 Sioux City Farmer's Market and that I recommend include:

  • the Cornucopia
  • C. Brown
    • The BEST local jams and jellies. These always make me want to eat a pb&j! My fave is probably their strawberry lemonade flavor, but if that's not your jam, they're sure to have one that is.
  • Farmer Brown
    • Fresh delicious produce for reasonable prices. Their consistently great quality always keeps me coming back for more!
  • KJ West
    • Super cute jewelry and accessories from a local maker!
  • Loess Hills Honey
    • Local honey and honey-based products including lip balm. Their honey sticks are 5 for $1 which is a great option if you want to get your kids something little at the market!
  • Loess Valley
    • Goat milk soap from west central Iowa. I follow her on Instagram and my kids are obsessed with the videos she posts of her adorable goats, plus her soaps are great quality and smell so nice!
  • Mallett Farms
    • Fruits, veggie, and more from the Salix area!

Special Events at the Sioux City Farmers Market

Most years there are special events at the Farmers Market throughout the spring, summer, and fall including live music, bike helmet giveaways, yard games, and even a Halloween costume contest! As special events are announced for the 2023 market season, I will try to update here.

Siouxland Fourth of July Fireworks & Fun

Fourth of July falls on a Thursday in 2024 and there is lots of patriotic fun happening. Here's where you can catch fireworks and celebrate the USA this year:

Little Chicago Deli is coming back to Sioux City!

Sioux City's newest eatery isn't actually new--it's just the newest iteration of a classic! Little Chicago Deli is opening in a new location just a couple doors down from the original restaurant, and they're opening on Friday May 31, 2024, for pickup orders and delivery, with the dining lobby opening later in summer 2024. Here's the info we have so far on Sioux City's new Little Chicago Deli: History of Little Chicago Deli Little Chicago Deli has been around Sioux City since 1988 as a locally owned sandwich shop, but unfortunately the previous location closed in 2017. Prior to that, I remember going there in college while I was doing an internship downtown, and I was sad to hear the original closed. But new owners, including some staff from the old Little Chicago Deli, are bringing it back in 2024! The name pays homage to local legends about Sioux City during Prohibition. For starters, Prohibition was widely ignored in Sioux City
