Are there any "camps" that are free or fairly cheap?
ReplyDeleteGood question! I don't know of any free ones for 2021 yet, but I think in general the camps hosted by the county conservation boards are usually amongst the most affordable, and I know the YMCA has some different options for helping families financially. But if there is a camp you are interested in that doesn't work in your budget, I always encourage reaching out to the hosts to see if there are scholarships available.
DeleteThere are also lots of free programs that are just one time events, so watch for those too. The Lewis and Clark Center and Sioux City Parks and Rec both host lots of free events over the summer usually and I will definitely make sure those are in my monthly event posts!
